Cross border e-commerce platform ekShop Global launched

Cross-border e-commerce platform 'ekShop Global' has officially started its journey to spread indigenous products like Nakshi Kantha (embroidered quilt) and Shataranchi (a kind of floor mat) to the world without being an exporter. Project Director (Joint Secretary) of a2i Dr. Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir inaugurated this platform by cutting a cake at the ICT tower of Agargaon on Sunday with the promise of selling Bangladeshi products anywhere in the world and buying products from any country and providing easy shipment and online payment facilities from this independent platform. Earlier, a2i's Head of Digital Business, Rezwanul Haque Jami, presented the details about the ekshop Global under the guidance of ekshop's Head of Operations Taufiq Ahmed. In the presentation, he elaborated on how ekshop Global will act as an international supply chain network for cross-border trading. The Managing Director of the contracted company El-Nino BD Md. Enamul Haque Limited of explained the whole process that how the cross-border trading will create more opportunities for young entrepreneurs. In the month of October 2019, the journey of 'ekShop' started as the world's first rural assisted e-commerce platform with the aim of delivering daily-necessary products to people's doorsteps easily and quickly. The latter is contributing to building a solid infrastructure for the country's e-commerce sector by bringing together the country's leading and trusted e-commerce, payment and logistics service providers on a one-stop platform through APIs. Already, 1,800 e-commerce companies and 180,000 small traders have been connected with ekshop and 6,500 Union Digital Centers have been built in remote areas of the country. More than 8 lakh customers have been served through 991 collection points established across the country. During this time, the company has worked with 53 companies of the country. By 2025, ekShop aims to add 8 million small business owners and over 150,000 Facebook-based businesses to the ekshop platform. It is building a nationwide network of 1,000 Internet of Things-based smart lockers called 'DigiBox' to reduce cost, time and visits for product delivery. In line with this, the 'ekShop Global' platform is being launched to provide access to logistics and cross-border trade for those involved in the country's Cottage, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (CMSMEs). A network of 1000 Internet of Things-based smart lockers called 'Digibox' is being developed across the country to reduce time and visits. In line with this, the 'ekShop Global' platform is being launched to provide access to logistics and cross-border trade for those involved in the country's Cottage, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (CMSMEs). A network of 1000 Internet of Things-based smart lockers called 'Digibox' is being developed across the country to reduce time and visits. In line with this, the 'ekShop Global' platform is being launched to provide access to logistics and cross-border trade for those involved in the country's Cottage, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (CMSMEs).
